James E. Braun: I used to be a historian, I designed museum exhibits, I was a gunsmith. When something is broken, I have to fix it. I am a writer, and a sculptor, but I would stop short of referring to myself as an artist. I am the proprietor of a B&B. The B&B is the result of having a beautiful piece of property just outside Yosemite and a house because I promised my Dad I would build one there with no other practical reason for doing so. I love restoring things. There is no real order or rationale to any of it...or me, really, I've spent my life studying, reading, analyzing, observing...just basically trying to understand. As a result, I've become one of those people who just want to over explain everything. I write because it is cathartic for me. I spent too much time alone in the woods. so my daughter, Whitny, signed me up for Facebook. When Whitny started blogging, I realized I had discovered my forum. I can crap on about things no one I know gives a damn about and no one has to be bothered. But, the beauty of the Internet is that someone, somewhere, actually will find it informative or useful.
